What stands out: Codeta is a foreign operator without a Belgian licence. That is why, this is mainly interesting if you already know the brand.

The payment story in Belgium is quickly told: money goes in via Bancontact or Bancontact Pay, and what comes out lands on your account. The app once named Payconiq by Bancontact has carried the name Bancontact Pay since March 2026. The card in your wallet probably already does it, with a minimum deposit that usually sits at €5.

Per transaction Bancontact Pay lets €1500 through, and €2500 per day. A deposit shows up immediately; between request and account sit usually one to three banking days, plus the time the operator itself takes to process the request.

Opening and verifying an account

The start is recognisable at every operator: your real details plus a KYC check before any money leaves. Usually an ID together with a document showing your address is enough. If the name on your bank account differs, things stall.

The desk answers in English, and no Belgian body arbitrates a dispute. Keep the confirmation e-mails of your deposits; without those documents a complaint leaves you empty-handed.

Player protection in numbers

Belgium regulates player protection considerably more strictly than a few years ago and you feel it on the first deposit. The standard limit runs to €200 per week per site. Downwards it goes without an intermediate step, raising it needs a check and a waiting period.

Self-exclusion in Belgium is handled centrally, through EPIS: the exclusion applies instantly across the whole licensed landscape. The register is not public. Since 1 September 2024 the minimum age is 21 for casino, gaming hall and betting; for the National Lottery 18 remained the rule. The bar is statutory, not a house rule.

Frequently asked questions

No — gambling winnings fall outside personal income tax. Nothing about that rule changes in 2026. Winnings stay outside personal income tax.

Always work the wagering through: 35x on a €50 bonus means €1,750 of turnover before a payout. Check whether your game counts before you start. Declining a bonus is always allowed.

€200 per week per site applies automatically; you need not request it. A lower limit is active immediately. At unlicensed sites that protection does not exist.

Through the Gaming Commission's EPIS system. One registration excludes you from every licensed operator, online and on-site. The request is free of charge. It is the strongest brake Belgium offers.

From 21. The bar rose in September 2024, only the lottery stayed at 18. The check is automatic at licensed sites. This is verified at registration.

Bancontact is accepted almost everywhere for deposits, not for withdrawals. The deposit shows on your account immediately. Turnaround depends mostly on the operator, not on Bancontact.
